Together · Chapter 20
Sharing and public pages
You share a board with members by giving them the link. Anyone without an account gets a public read-only page, which runs out after a while and has a password if you like.
The Share window
At the top right of the board, Share opens a window with the members of the space and their rights. Below it is the link to the board, which you can copy and send to members. Anyone who is not a member does not get in with it.
A public read-only page
- Switch on: the Public read-only page switch.
- Choose the end: Under Expires one, seven, thirty or 365 days, or never. By default it is thirty.
- A password, if you like: enter it and click Save end and password.
- Pass the link on: It starts with
/s/and opens the board without signing in.
The page shows only this board with its photos and files. Nobody can change anything there, but they can present, frame by frame. It asks for the password once per browser, and anyone who guesses wrong is slowed down.
Only whoever manages the space may switch it on. In the overview, a board with a read-only page carries a globe.
The operator has to allow it first
Public pages are off by default. The operator allows them under Settings, Server, Public pages with Allow public pages.
Cora saysIf you switch a read-only page off, it runs out or the operator forbids public pages, the link answers as if it had never existed. Nobody finds out that a board was ever there.
