Arranging · Chapter 10
Selecting, moving, copying
Before you change something, you select it. Select (key V) is the tool that nexcanvas returns to after every placing.
Selecting
- One thing: click it.
- Several: click more with Shift, or drag a box on an empty spot around everything you want.
- Everything: Ctrl + A.
- Nothing any more: Esc.
Moving and resizing
Drag the selection to where it should go. The arrow keys move it in small steps, with Shift in bigger ones. Around a selected thing there are eight handles with which you make it bigger and smaller; with Shift the proportions stay the same. Photos, drawings and groups always keep their proportions.
The context bar
Above every selection floats a bar with whatever fits right now: colours for notes, fill and outline for shapes, size for text, arrows for lines. Always included are Bring to front and Send to back, Duplicate, Group, Lock, Export selection and the red bin for deleting.
The right mouse button
On a thing it offers Duplicate, Save as shape, Bring to front, Send to back, Lock and Delete. On an empty spot there are Note here, Text here, Upload photo or file, Select all and Show everything. On the phone you open the same menu by pressing and holding.
Copying, pasting, deleting
Ctrl + D duplicates the selection right beside it, and lines between the copied things come along. Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V also copy from one board to another, even between two tabs. Delete or Backspace deletes, and lines that were attached to the deleted things disappear with them.
Cora saysSave as shape is seen only by whoever manages a space. What you do with it is in the chapter Your own shape packages.
