Together · Chapter 18
Live together
When several people open the same board, everyone sees every change the moment it happens. You do not have to switch anything on, it just works.
Who is here right now
At the top of the board you can see whether the connection is up: Live. Next to it, under Also here right now, are the round initials of everyone else who has the board open, up to five, and then a number.
Pointers with names
Every person has a pointer in their own colour with their display name on it. If they select something or type in it, a frame in the same colour lies around it. That way you see what the others are working on and do not get in their way.
Cora saysYou set the name on your pointer under My account, Profile as your Display name. If it stays empty, your user name is shown there.
Two in one note
If two people type into the same note at the same time, the words of both stay. Nobody overwrites the other, and nobody has to wait.
Undo only for you
Ctrl + Z only takes back what you did in your own browser window. What the others did stays.
When the connection drops
If the connection breaks for a moment, Offline appears at the top. You keep working, and your changes follow as soon as it is back. The server keeps every change before it passes it on to the others, so that nothing gets lost.
If someone takes you out of the space, No access any more appears there. nexcanvas checks the rights of every open connection again every 30 seconds.
If you may only read
With the Read right you see all changes live, but the tools are missing, and the server accepts no change from you. The next chapter explains who may do what.
