Getting started · Chapter 2

Creating and finding boards

A board is an endless surface on which everything lies that you draw, write and upload. Every board belongs to a space, and whoever may write in that space may also create new boards.

A new board

Click New board in the header bar or press Alt + N. In the window you enter a Name, choose the Space and, under Start with, whether you begin empty, with a template or From a file …. Create board gets you going.

It is quicker with the + next to a space in the sidebar. The board then lands straight in that space.

The overview

Under All boards or a space in the sidebar you see the boards as cards with a preview picture. You can sort by Last changed, Name or Newest. A globe on the card means the board has a public read-only page.

Through the … menu on a card you rename a board, make a copy or move it to the bin. In an open board you click the name at the top to rename it, Enter saves and Esc cancels.

Favourites and Recent

With the star on a card or at the top of the board you put a board under Favourites in the sidebar. Below that, under Recent, are the three boards you had open most recently. Both apply to your account only.

Searching

With Ctrl + K you open the search. It finds boards by their name and by the words on them, in notes, texts, shapes and the names of frames. Without any input it shows your last eight boards. You choose with the arrow keys and open with Enter.

Copy and bin

A copy has the same name as the original with “(copy)” after it and stays in the same space. A board in the bin stays there for 30 days. You find the bin in the header bar under Files, with Restore and Delete for good.

Cora saysThe Files page also shows all photos and files from the boards you may read, as tiles. One click takes you to the board they are on.
