Drawing and writing · Chapter 6
Lines and arrows
A line in nexcanvas is attached to the things it connects. If you move a note away, the line goes with it, and the process stays intact.
Connecting two things
Choose the Line (key L) and drag from one thing to the other. The line docks on the real edge, so with a circle it docks on the circle and not on an invisible box. If you drag into empty space, the end stays free.
If you want to attach an end somewhere else, select the line and drag its handle onto another thing.
How the line looks
Above a selected line the context bar offers:
| Button | Does |
|---|---|
| No arrow | a plain line |
| Arrow at the end | a head where you dragged to |
| Arrows at both ends | heads on both sides |
| Curved | a soft curve instead of a straight line |
| Dashed | dashes instead of a solid line |
| Width 2 and Width 4 | thin or strong |
By default a line is thin and has an arrow at the end. If it is attached to things at both ends, it swings in a curve.
Cora saysIt is even quicker than with the tool when you use the plus on a note: it attaches a new note and draws the line along with it. The chapter Keep building with the plus shows how.
